Are you teaching or planning to teach materials handling, facility layout/design/logistics, operations, or supply chain related courses? Are you interested in an event-filled week of learning, networking, and tours? If so, apply to attend the 2019 Material Handling Teachers Institute (MHTI) sponsored by the College Industry Council on Material Handling Education (CICMHE) and hosted by the Ingram School of Engineering at Texas State University.

Designed for faculty of all levels of experience who are directly involved in the teaching of material handling, facilities design/layout/logistics, operations, and supply chain courses, MHTI promotes better teaching of material handling and facilities logistics courses at both graduate and undergraduate levels by providing:

  • A wide range of academic and industry presentations
  • Plant tours
  • Social activities
  • Opportunity to interact with colleagues and share course designs, teaching methods, case studies, textbooks, software, and more

Call for Participation

The 2019 MHTI will be held from July 23-26, 2019 at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas (located in the vibrant and growing I-35 corridor between Austin and San Antonio).

Through the generous funding provided by MHI, the on-site expenses of all attendees will be paid including:

  • Hotel*
  • Meals
  • On-site transportation
  • All sponsored tours
  • Social events 

(*Attendees are required to pay their own airfare and transportation to the hotel, as well as the expenses of a spouse or any accompanying guests.)

Participant Requirements

The events of the 2019 MHTI will start on the afternoon of Tuesday, July 23, and will end around 12pm on Friday, July 26. Participants must agree to attend the full event to ensure that all attendees benefit from a fully immersive experience. Late arrivals or early departures diminish the quality of the event for all attendees.
